Fairytales and happy endings?

This is the last one of the series I had to paint for my class, the assignment was to take something and recreate it with your own vision. It could be a famous painting, iconic image, fairytale pretty much whatever you wanted. There were some very creative ideas presented at the final critique there was a satirical painting of the last supper but with Jesus sitting at a table alone at McDonald's under a fast food sign.

I had a few different ideas that I wanted to work from so decided to combine two of them I always liked the stairs to heaven image and I wanted to incorporate a fairytale. I saw the play Wicked not to long ago and decided that I would make my stairs a brick road before Glenda has gone to the Emerald city my story is she walking along the brick road and the leaves are falling around her and as she walks along the road her magic turns the lave on the road to gold and it becomes the yellow brick road. Haha well its a bit of a stretch but its my little story to meet the assignment.

I was thrilled with how this one turned out I ended up abandoning Painter for this painting I was short on time and getting frustrated so this is completely painted in photoshop. Ill keep hacking away at painter but its definitely going to require more time and patience. There are a couple areas that I may go back and rework on the girl but overall I'm satisfied with the result. The original is 11 by 17 150 dpi done in photoshop.

My happy ending is I got an A in the class yayyy! Hope you have enjoyed seeing these.

Dualities and some more meandering

Deep in the forest

A few posts ago I mentioned I had an assignment to create a diptych (technically these are 2 paintings or panels that work together) of dualites. Most times these are a continuation of a theme or a story and relate to each other, however our teacher decided that he wanted two images were opposites of each other but had some kind of link, Some examples would be life, death, young, old etcetera. It took me a long time to come up with a concept for these mostly because I didnt really want to do opposites, I wanted to do something along the lines of the panels you see in the iconic russian art, that what came to mind when I thought of drawings that are panels of linked image or some of the beautiful Japanese art prints. Needless to say I dawdled and dawlded cause everything seemed to be either to cliche, blah or not fit the assignment criteria.

Finally out of desperation I ended up settling on doing landscapes that were opposite in location, feeling and technique. Deep in the forest was mostly done in photoshop this time I did it after I did the LightHouse at sea. I love how this one came out with the dark moody feeling of the deep dark forest it makes me wonder what is lurking out there in the woods.

Lighthouse on the Ocean

The light house painting was done entirely in Painter and to be honest is not a finished as it should be I spent so many hours on those darn clouds and I am still not happy with them, by the time I got to the light house I was fed up and wanted to be done so I rushed through and did a very loose painting of the light house and rocks.

What I discovered from this is Painter is hard! I can move so fast in photoshop and painter takes me so much longer, I am sure this is still lack of familiarity of how to get the tools and brushes to give me the results I want, I have seen some beautiful work done using painter but I am a long way off from what I would call competent. The second thing I discovered it so sucks to paint things you arent interested in. I really didnt want to paint a lighthouse lol so that probably made it so much harder. I think its important to try to do things out of your comfort zone to help you grow and develop as an artist (but its probably better not to on a deadline for your final projects).

Both paintings are 11 by 17 300 dpi- Kinkos does a great job printing on color stock by the way if anyone needs a place they also do calenders and all kinds of fun things you can print your own art work and photos on.

I have been able to get som gowns done but not in all their colors I tried to get them out for Christmas but that just want happening this time, hopefully Ill get them out this weekend.

Another one of my school projects. I was so stuck on this the assignment was to create a surrealistic painting every thing I came up with seemed to fall more into the fantasy category rather then surrealism. After alot of whining and moaning about it and some help from my fellow fashionistas I was able to get a firmer grasp of where I wanted to head with this.

Once I let go of all the preconceptions of what it couldnt be and just let it go it really started to flow on its own and the problem ended up not being what to do but what not to do in the amount of time I had to finish it.

The Orignal print is 11by 17 and was created using Painter and photoshop. Im still finding painter to be a bit frustrating but Im going to keep kicking it for a while see if I can get it to bend to my will.

Line and texture

The semester is finally coming to a close thank goodness my arm feels like its going to fall off this week but I'm down to the last few paintings for my final hurray!! These are a few of the beginning projects that we had to do to show line, texture, shape, contour, gesture and negative/positive shapes. I love the fashion pose one each of these was done individually as a contour drawing, I actually had a few more poses done but they wouldn't fit on the page once I added the negative shapes. I was disappointed at first cause all the work that didn't get included, poor pre-planning the lay out on my part but I think the negative shapes give the final lay out more interest.

This next project we had to do a panel for each of the topics the contour was hard for me as I really wanted to add shading and some shadows into the face the second portrait we could use line as value along with contour, again I really wanted to shade her face but I felt might not meet the project goals. I lost points for not using cross hatching on it :(. Doing cobblestones was kind of fun I experimented with using a few different techniques and think the end result turned out pretty good.

This was our very first assignment on shading, volume and light sources I actually decided to challenge myself and used Corel Painter to do these instead of Photoshop. I have only used painter a few times it has some great paint tools but I'm still not understanding some of the tools like the blenders they worked great on these but later as I moved into the color paintings I had trouble with it picking up the canvas colors.

If anyone knows more about Painter I'ld love to hear from you none of my searches turned up the answers I needed. Lost points on the cone and abstract shape cause my shadows were too hard "cry" I tried softening them but still not good as needed to be I guess, oh well try to do better on the next series.

Castle in the Clouds - my meanderings...

Its been a chaotic few months, a couple weeks ago as I was arriving in the school parking lot a huge suburban decided to go full speed in reverse into me and my car. Needless to say my car was smooshed but thankfully I was ok other then being a bit rattled.

This semester I am taking a digital drawing class along with driving down to the valley for a 3d modeling class. Its really interesting how some teachers are so very different, my modeling teacher on Saturdays is very intense the moment the class starts he is off lecturing barely taking a breath the class is supposed to end at 6:00pm sat night but quite often we are there till 7 or 8. Its really interesting but at times all the information can be mind numbing.

On the other side is my drawing class I seriously think my teacher has this twisted little streak that wants to see us squirm. He doesn't lecture quite as much but he gives us a drawing assignment nearly every week and he wants them 11 by 17 inches matted! When your used to doing things 1024 or 512 for SL 11 by 17 inches can be quite daunting if not down right intimidating.

The drawing above is my assignment for class we were given the title Castle in the Clouds and the objective was to use multiple points of perspective. After a few really bleh printings and then going back and reworking my levels of contrasts and colors I was reasonably pleased with it. I ended up printing at Kinkos on 80 pound card stock. The first printing was really dark so they had to increase the lightness a lot, it is something I will need keep in mind when prepare for printing next time

Our next assignment is a diptych in dualities, for those of you that said huh like I did a diptych is 2 panels or a series of 2 panels of paintings in this case (see I told you he wanted to see us squirm). I'm not quite sure what to do for these and as usual I dread starting. I think that I'm always worried what if its not right or not good enough so I wait till I have no choice but to start, usually then I get completely involved and obsessive about it. That being said there really is something different to seeing your work in print, I am hoping I can overcome my phobia about it so that I look forward to it and be a bit more prolific.

When I got home late saturday night my router was dead, dead, dead so I ended up having to get a new one today and arguing with ATT support trying to get it workin properly. So I'm back online hopefully everyone had a wonderful Halloween.

Many Moons ago when I as a little girl my mom made me the most delightful Harvest Farie Costume with layers of tulle & chiffon with tiny velvet covered leaves and fruits sewn into the skirt. It was one of my favorite costumes of all time and brngs many fond memories.

For the month of October I have put this out at a discounted price. I have included 2 sets of the ball gown 1 with the pumpkins on the skirt texture and 1 with just leaves. I hope you love this as much as I do.

Last December my partner and I went christmas shopping,he wasnt sure what to buy me so he gave me a huge shopping spree at Armidi. Whoohoo would be most peoples response except for one thing ...Coming Soon. Armidi was running a Gift certificate promotion at the time and in small print the cards said available for use in January.

January comes along no word. Finally at the end of Feburary Armidi posts a shopping web site that is a sneak peek and can be used by people holding their gift cards. So I giddily rush over to the store to buy some of their latest releases but to my dismay you can not purchase in the store only from the website.

I personally hate shopping this way but off I went to the website to purchase the wonderful new items and sadly they werent there only the older items where there. Against my better judgement I purchased the new hair I wanted with additional funds and waited patiently for the new items to be added to the site.

Waited, waited and waited........

March 2008 Armidi announces more releases andtheir team expands yay! Surely now they will get the new stuff up and get the cards working in the store. Sad face no they dont.

April 2008 more new releases, May 2008 more new releases June 2008 August 2008.... and more waiting.

As the releases have come out I have sent ims, sent notecards asking for help with no reply. I again check their shopping website now you cant even buy the old items it just says Coming Spring 2008....

Today I finally had enough and sent 32 ims to all the Armidis, Lola Marquez and Liam Oliver, 5 of the 32 where online 1 responded to me then an hour later I got 1 other response. THe following are the responses with their names removed.

Within an hour of this posting I received a response from Liam Oliver expressing concerns about what I posted here. I agreed not to post any my conversation with him.

I agreed that I would post any clarifications of the responses I received from either of the Armidi's that responded to me, if they are sent to me.

After a lengthy discussion I have been refunded my balance of my gift card, received an apology for how this was handeled and been assured that the web site will indeed be up and running soon. I was also told they will also be doing their best to reach out to those who have not been able to redeem their cards.

The flower color changes on touch and is adorned with pearls, diamonds, fur and a whisp of face netting. Set 2 of the rewards gown is now out. This week I did a small train for the gown and a luxurious Fur stole with drape. I wasn't sure abut the fur shading I ended up doing a darker fur with some darker shades of blues and greens in the fur and a lighter fur teal as well. Since I couldn't decide which I preferred some of the group members took a vote and dark won by a very small margin so it is the rewards gown for $1L

There where some who kept switching their vote so I decided I would release the second set at a extremely discounted price for the group while set 2 is out. Creating the extra pieces for this set was really inspiring the next set should be just as fun as this one. I think it has taken a very demure sophisticated gown and made it very glam with a bit of sultriness.

This whole set is really breathtaking and I couldnt imagine a more perfect ending the the stunning tiara and matching ring she has created for this series, they are exquisetly detailed and match the gowns to perfection. Since 2004 I have been trading under the name "Allure" by Sparkle Skye and take great pride in the reputation I have gained in that time. Unfortunately its come to my attention that certain individuals have chosen to trade under the name "Allure" without my endorsement. I have contacted both individuals who are doing this and was told so what.

If you were to take a peek in my bulging inventory you would see a closet bursting with shoes of every possible description and color. My latest indulgence are the shoes from The Stiletto Moody Boutique. Theres is something about the style and flair of these shoes that just calls to me. Luicee and I were stalking Dancer the boutique manager for a week when we caught a glimpse of these on her feet as she was walking by. There were plaintive cries from Luicee on the fashion chat during the week are the shoes out yet??????

You can imagine my glee when I heard tomorrow at 4:00pm and I saw a few photos on the fashion feed. I madly dashed off the url to Dominus with a statement I must have these!!!!!!!! I am happy to say when I made my purchases the next day I was not disappointed. These are excellently crafted and a superb quality and I consider them some of the finest quality shoes in my collection , they are sexy, elegant, fun and just plain wickedly delicious.

These shoes do carry a hefty price tag but there have been a couple sales where group members can get them for half off. Theres also been alot of disscussion that a commissioned artist is working in partnership creating the shoes for the store.

There is alot that goes into running a business in SL from creation to marketing, customer relations the list and time involved, the list is endless. Not every artists wants that level of involvement or added work. I know for me personally it does eat up a chunk of my creation time but I love it and is part of my creative process but I can understand how some would not want it.

If an artist is comfortable with how they are paid, the division of labor in their partnership then I really don't understand why people are upset. I much rather see this if the artist is interested then all the theft that has been happening.

The shoes contain a list of scripted features that allow you to adjust sound, bling option, optional walk some also have color change options. I personally would like to see more of the shoes offering the color change options even if its just a limited pallette. I have found dancer to be charming, and extremely helpful so if your not sure whats on sale or what options a shoe has am sure she would be happy to assist you. I would like to add that prior to going into the store to shop I had not met anyone there.

While these shoes may not be for everyones taste or budget I found them delightful and hope to see more from the team at Stiletto Moodys.

I am a self confessed shoe-a-holic and the only 12 steps Im taking is right to Melanies Zhao's divine shoe store Zhao Shoe's HQ. I probably own more shoes then then there are days in a year and still love to shop for them. When I got asked in SL what did I want for Christmas I said shoeeeeeeeees! However the Melanie's Miabella shoes I think are probably the shoes I reach for the most. I discovered these when I was looking for the perfect pump to match the Madame X gown.

What do I love? There so many things about this shoe that make it the must have shoe in your closet no matter how many you have. They have a great hud attachment that change the ribbon strap and bow at the back of the shoe, that alone made them worth it to me but theres more. you also have a bling on and off option, walk on and off and if you like the heel click sounds theres 3 choices of wood, rubber and metal aith the ability to turn the volume down so not everyone in the sim hears you coming.

I normally use my ao but these are great when I need to take that off and still have a nice walk its a great option which I find as useful as the color change option.

Twilight Moments

Magical moments against the twilight sky.

Its been a really difficult month or two, this week and next will be the worst. I have had some really interesting classes on character and make up design which I am looking foward to utilising into some new concepts and designs for the upcoming year. However my statistics class is really killing me and I have a back log of gowns that are finished or nearly done but not photoed and packaged. Today was another test, one more to go next week, it was very disheartening as I'm sure I didnt do well despite the days and nights of studying, and if I dont do well next week it means repeating the course. I am terribly math phobic and the minute I sit down to the test sheer panic sets in and everything I thought I knew goes flying out of my mind.

I came home so very upset and depressed from my exam I decided to try and lift my spirits with something as far away from math and reality as possible. This is a gown I have been working on and off now for a while that seems to keep evolving. Sometimes I think designs have a life of thier own and if we allow them to the grow and sometimes become something far more beautiful and magical then we originally started with.

I have a few more thoughts on where I want this to go, so in between studying and praying that I pass Ill let it sit and see where its magic will take me...

What goes into making a designer?

Ok Im going to rant a little about something I see all to often thrown around that I find extremely irritating. I normally make it a policy to not to do this but I feel that on behalf of myself and many other designers something needs to be said. Today I saw an all to frequent comment on a blog "After all, couture and fashion cost naught but thought and time in Second Life plus maybe a $10L upload fee. " I am sorry but this quite frankly is a very uniformed statement and is most likely true of someone who may just beginning to toy with the idea of designing. Before you get out the pitchforks to start the fires burning let me explain all that really goes on behind creating a good quality designer.

First thing you need is software while there maybe other software thats free in my opinion in the long run your going to need Adobe photoshop currently priced at $999 or $349 for an upgrade. Next thing youll need is a wacom drawing tablet, the smallest wacom intuos 4 by 6 is $229.00. You will also need a reasonably good high quality monitor, I state this because while some will say well I have a monitor already it may not be suitable. The reason is color monitors are fairly cheap these days but the cheaper ones tend to give you poor color values. Next you will need some training, there are many ways to obtain training, theres a ton of tutorials on the net or you will need to pay for training. Again these are my opinions but I think your best bet is go to your community college and sign up for a class and supplement with tutorials you find. Cost for a class will vary here your talking about a $100 plus materials and parking.

Ok these to me are the basics for a beginning designer who has looked at it a bit and decided they really want to do this. Now lets take a look at what goes on beyond the basics. I'm basing this on myself and some designers I know who are pursuing design somewhat seriously. While community college classes and tutorials are a great start to go beyond that your going to have to get advanced training, that comes at a cost. Typically classes run anywere from$800 to several thousand dollars depending on the intensivity of the course or workshop you are taking. Add to that books and magazines you will need for reference. Next you will need a high quality digital camera, a good camera of the quality you need is going to run you about $700, you also need a tripod and lighting, you can get a reasonable tripod for $80 lighting is quite expensive a beginning lighting kit will run $300 to get the bare minimum.

Some of these things you will not need in the beginning of your designing career but as you improve you will need to add them. Ok you say did all that done right? Well that depends on your desire to improve and the quality you desire to reach. For me and professional artists I speak to training and learning is a process that never stops unless you wish to become stagnant and not grow. In addition to taking classes in photoshop I recommend taking classes in drawing, painting and color in design using real medium not the computer. Why you might ask? this gives you a basic fundamental ground to work from so you will understand why things work.

This doesnt even touch the costs and training 3d modeling which is starting to become one of the tools that designers are needing.

One last thing before I get off my soap box, the phrase "its free all it is is your time" well many of you have or have had a job in real life where you collect a hourly or weekly paycheck. I highly doubt if you went to work tomorrow and your boss said oh we have decided were not going to pay you today after all its just your time yould be very happy.

I recently saw a tv show the name escapes me but it was based on the cost of your time on normal mundane activities such as doing laundry, dog walking, taking your pet to the vet to loading your ipod they calculated the time these things took and how much time you were losing to them each week and it amazed me when you started totaling it all up how much time we lose just running errands. The focus of the show was the many services out there that you can hire to perform these tasks, who knew you could hire someone to load your ipod and set up play lists? My point is your time has value and it doesnt really come free as its at a cost of something else, it takes time to take classes, it takes time to seach the net for tutorials, it takes time to make dinner and do laundry.

So perhaps before someone says its just your time it costs you nothing maybe think twice....

A Star among the Celestial Heavens

I have to admit when I got a request to do a wedding gown with stars I was a little stumped on how to design the gown to give it the sexiness the bride requested with a touch of glamour and elegance that would tie it all together to make a regal but sexy bride. After tossing around a few sketches this is the final outcome. Im really happy with how it has turned out. The set has 18 pieces all together I originally did the skirt in all satin, after I was all done I mulled over it for a few days and decided I really wanted a touch of lace to soften it a bit so I have included both the satin version and the lace version. The bodice is adorned with pearls diamonds & stars. I have created 6 variations of the top inculding sheer, opaque and one with little stars on the sheer bodice. I was in a bit of a melancholy mood last night when I started to do my vendor pics which didn't get done so ended up doing a composite and taking some photos around the sim. I used to do alot of composites and create stories for them this photo was shot at ImaginExotica where I have a tower in the water that goes up in the clouds. I often like to sit there when I'm trying to work things out be it a new project or some problem I have.

The image originally started with me thinking of a princess locked away in a tower broken hearted but wistful, her tears don't show on her face but in the rain that pours all around her as she contemplates both her past and her future. Her tower is both a prison and refuge where she hides but hopes... But what does she really hope for? The old fairy tales would say a handsome prince to come to her rescue but I think this princess chooses not to be bound by those old tales as seductive as they can be. What will she do, what path will she take? Only time will tell.

Oh gentle winds 'neath moonlit skies,

Below the branches, here about,

This is a stunning piece from the wonderfully talented AlienBear Gupte of Alienbear Design, one of my hobbies many moons ago was doing jewelry pieces made from tiny crystal beads and when I saw the Princess Gelashia set it truly brought that to mind. I think this is the first set I purchased from her and was delighted at the quality of her workmanship. It captures a delightful feeling of regal elegance with a touch of the whimsical with the two hearts intertwined, she also has a pair of very delicate earring with tiny little hearts, tear drops and earring backs that are just perfect.

What impressed me most about her work was the detail of each piece she creates, there is a thoughtfulness of design that carries through out all her pieces be the from her regal pieces to her playful fun pieces.
The Princess Gelashia set was a wonderful pairing with the Milady gown I just finished for a bride to be with a ruby red trim. The photos of the necklace simply do not capture the richness of the set.

Ok well I'm going to tip toe in for a moment on the photosphere, photobooth discussion for just a moment. Firstly a disclaimer that I know neither of the partys that advertised the spheres and do not own either of these booths (there are a few for sale looking through forums) but I do own a number of photobooths and the first fully enclosed round booth was actually made by Hosequeen which was a freebie that I got in 2004 which I happen to love and still use, Its not fancy doesnt have all the new neat features these have but it was the original concept of using and enclosed round booth and super low prim.

Also at SL burning man last year some did an awesome huge display showing landscapes in a fully enclosed build where they broke up 1 panaromic photo across many panels so you felt like you were inside the landscape. (I cant recall the project creators off hand)

I have also bought a number of other photobooths not because any were broken but because I liked a background or some effects it had even tho 99% of the time for adds I photo against white and do my own backgrounds. Its still fun to have something for a quick photo in world that has a great back drop already done for you.

I think the creativity is not really the shape of the booth but in the backgrounds it comes with and the new backgrounds you can get for it and only you the artist can express those through your own ideas, feelings and emotions. I think thats what people are really buying not just a sphere or a box that anyone could rez or tint.

Thats my 2 cents on it for what its worth, hopefully no one takes it the wrong way, its entirely possible I'm way off base here and not understanding (it wouldnt be the first time) .

These are the last of the Pastels for the queen Katherine series. Except for doing the ruby and teal with the silver trim I think this series is complete. I am considering a bridal version of this that will be slightly more elaborate but need to give that some more thought.

Its really hard to see the detail on the bodice in these shots so when I return from school I may do some close up details shots. The peach, Im not sure how well it is showing in the photo but it has soft undulations of the golden sun peaking through the peach.

Riding my Water Serpent at ImaginExotica

Onto grand new adventures, last week I began my class in Ecorche at the Los Angeles School of Figurative Arts. Echo whoo??? Ecorche is the study of human or animal anatomy with the skin removed to enable you to study the location and interplay of the muscles. This method of studying anatomy was started in the 15th Century and some artists will even study cadavers Ewwwwwwwww!

I am not brave enough to study cadavers at least not yet! I might faint if I have to do that. What we are doing is creating a wire armature made from a variety of different wire gages that is wrapped together to form the base under where the skeleton and muscles will go. This was kind of fun I had never done this before and didn’t even really know what they meant by making an armature.

Oooh Play-Doh!

Once you have this completed you then with pliers put your armature into a pose that you would like you end sculpture to be in and you nail the bottom to a wooden base.

The next class we will be creating the bones of the skeleton from clay onto the wire. I’m a bit nervous about this as the last time I played with clay it was making delectable edibles from play-doh with my easy bake oven!

I will be chronicling my adventures here on the blog as I progress with some in class photos Today I have some photos of projects done by other students in previous classes. Looking at some of the completed works was really inspiring if you continue on with the classes there is a course were you create an imaginary creature, you have to develop a working skeleton for it that makes sense as well as muscles then you create an environment for it, sounds like mad scientist stuff. Remember the movie The Fly Muhahahaa!

With all the difficulties with SL the last couple days was only able to get a few of the colors out, The pastels feel so whispy and delicate when you have them on its quite an ethereal look thats deliciously sexy and angelic at the same time.

Still be trying to get over being sick but I had a really nice pick me up today when Neit Imd me and sent me some great photos. Neit really loves dragons and wryms so I thought I would take her photo and make a fun fantasy image from it. A lovely princess by the sea her faithful companion guarding her, wonder what adventures will befall them?

As a child I loved reading and my favorite books were the ones that had those wonderful illustrations. I still collect them to this day. This has been really fun perhaps I'll do an SL fairytale book one of these days.

I had a customer request to do this gown in a soft blush pink. I am really pleased with how it turned out. The silk on the skirt is subtle shade variations of a soft blush and baby pink it shimmers softly but has a really soft light flowy feel to the fabric. Just envision layers and layers of soft silk softly swirling around you as you walk, its an utterly divine feeling. The prim roses on the wreath sleeves and skirt are made up of a blush pink satin with some subtle tonal hues to give it a touch of contrast and depth. I have had a miserable few days being sick with the flu, its been bed rest for me mostly with a a couple hours here and there trying to finish a wedding gown for a bride who was getting married monday. Thankfully I was just about done when I got sick. I logged in this evening just to check messages and I received this lovely photograph from Xanna, it really captured the essence of what his outfit was about when I initially envisioned it.

The photo has a very whimsical, story book feel ...A tiny fairy resting as she tends her gardens. Will the fairy prince find her and rescue her before the eveil toad whisks her away? Makes me want to turn to the next page in the book to read more of the story.

This first gown is not a revamp but a new design that evolved from the Secret Garden series at a request from a customer who wanted it as a wedding gown. This gown went through a few transformations as the customer wanted a cathredal length train for it. I have to say after alot of fits I was thrilled with the end result.The dress has a light gossamer feel that exudes luxury and feminity. There are prim roses with diamonds encircling the semi sheer bodice and the delicate sleeves. The bodice also has layers that can be added so if you choose for the ceremony it can be more opaque. There is a cathredal length gown and I also have made a reception gown with out the full train, that is a bit more manageable. The veil has a white rose wreath and an over veil that can be removed after the ceremony. There are 2 bustles one long for the ceremony and one for reception. Ok for the record I HATE update days, and I also hate the cold and its been freezing in California, we even had snow by the beach for the first time in 20 years! Check out the video.

I do understand that we need some downtime and fixes but of late the fixes seem to be less of an improvement and more a stumbling block. Its far and few between that the days we have an upgrade it goes smoothly and often takes days for things to normalise, by the time we do another update day is here. Am I saying anything new not really but just needed to rant.

New Feature in todays update include:

Improved Search function - I hope so search has been broken on & off for weeks and been working intermittently.

Next and previous button functions for the classifieds - Not sure if this was really a necessary feature but it does help make browsing bit easier & cleaner.

Non copy items are returned to inventory - I thought we always had this one but seems like somewere along the way it stopped working as it did so glad its fixed hopefully it will help with the inventory items that people seem to just have vanish.

There been a sandbox time limit and autoreturn added.

Report Bug has been moved to tools menu for those of you who may need to use it, it hasnt gone missing.

There are a few more but these were the ones that stood out to me. A lot of fixes, substantially more fixes then new features, that makes me feel a little better about having so a long down day.

The first hour or so seemed a bit rough, with a few annoying bugs, but things seemed to have stabilised so hopefully things will go well for the week

Revamping & some design thoughts

The Bridal salon is slowly coming together, I have done bridal gowns since I started designing mostly as custom orders for some wonderful customers who inspired me to help bring their visions to life. For a variety of reasons, I never got the wedding gowns into the shop and then flexis came and I have had alot of revamping to do.
Initially I was kinda bummed about having to redo all the work but ultimately I think it was for the best as the designs are much stronger and fluid then some of my initial work. I think sometimes when your rushing
and are very focused on the intial design process you miss alternatives.
I always nit pick things to death when I am working but if I am able to leave a design sit for a while and come back to it with a fresh eye, I find I am able to see things differently that may just make that needed change. I am always trying to challenge myself to try and see things differently and push beyond my initial concept.
The above photo is actually of some of the orginal dresses I havebeen reworking. Over the next few weeks Ill be releasing the revamped versions and some completely new designs. Flexis have both been wonderful and a great frustration in this process. On one hand there wonderful as it does give you a bit of softness and fluidity that we just were not able to get before, the bad part is the flying prims in your face when you move and while you can attain softness its not always the kind you want so I find myself struggling trying to achieve a compromise with the limitations and what I see in my head and how I want the dress to feel to me as I design it.
Overall I am reasonably happy with some of the results so far and hope people enjoy them.

Fairy Flower Chairs

I have had these forever and have finally been getting a bit more organised. There are 2 types of flower chairs with a variety of sitting poses, the fairy chair also has a napping pose. These are available in a variety of color combinations if you dont see what your looking for please IM me as I have alot different colors, not all are out yet. The chairs are located in the fountain area to the right of the shop in front of bowling on the island of ImagineNation.

Everyone knows I love fluffy, feminine things but every now and then I say enough well for 5 minutes at least. Princessa long braid Version 2 is an over the shoulder braid with tiny diamonds interspersed in the braid. What Princess would be without her diamonds?
